The influences behind Helen Gallogly's work stem from her childhood and time spent in her parents antique furniture shop. Other influences include Victorian Culture, botanical illustrations and 18th/19th century textiles. Techniques and processes include, hand drawn screen printing, embroidery, dying and distressing. The experimental combination of intricate hand-drawn florals, layering of dyes, embroidery and distressing as well as the unusual approach to using traditional textile or wallpaper design format is what makes Helens fabrics so strikingly different and desirable.
